Dentistry

Did you know that two-thirds of cats and dogs have developed Periodontal Disease by the age of three? Dental disease can lead to health problems including heart, lung and kidney disease. Beginning daily care early and taking steps throughout your pet’s life will prolong the life of your pet. A collaborative effort between pet owners and our veterinarians is necessary to prevent periodontal and related diseases. Digital dental radiography allows us to appreciate nearly two-thirds more pathology! Yearly Comprehensive Oral Healthy and Assessment Treatments (COHATs) are key to continued oral health. After each tooth and associated structures are charted, evaluated and cleaned the teeth are polished and an Oravet Barrier Sealant is applied. Radiographs and pre/post photographs are reviewed with each pet owner. A picture really is worth a thousand words!
